I recently had the pleasure of testing the Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG HSM OS for Canon at a snowboarding competition at Camelback Mountain. This is one of the first photos I made with the lens on my Canon EOS 450D (XSi). Taken from Art Museum steps.
I can’t say enough good things about the experience I had with LensRentals.com for getting this lens to me at a helluva good price. Go there if you ever want to try before you buy.

“Compliments of:” This awesome comic book was left on my doorstep… (Taken with instagram)
You may not know this, but on Saturday January 29, 2011 VitaminWater, Buckmans Ski Shop and Radio 104.5 with other sponsors built a ski/snowboard ramp in The Piazza at Schmidt’s in Northern Liberties, Philadelphia PA.
It was a great spectacle, everyone had a great time and there were three bands playing on the Piazza’s stage. I kept my lens trained on the skiers and snowboarders.

Ready for snow Philly? Sitting here waiting for our first major snow storm of the season got me thinking about how last year ended, remember?

Last weekend, September 4, 2010 myself and a couple friends walked across the Benjamin Franklin Bridge from Philadelphia, PA to Camden, NJ to watch the Red Bull Flugtag 2010.
”Red Bull Flugtag challenges teams of everyday people to build homemade, human-powered flying machines and pilot them off a 30-foot high deck in hopes of achieving flight! Flugtag may mean “flying day” in German”
My friends Sandy, April and I visited for Fort Mifflin one Saturday in August. I took a few snapshots, mostly of airplanes landing at Philadelphia International Airport.

Can’t really tell what’s spurring it, but my photo “UART Tat Girl” is getting a lot of hits today. Also, a commenter told me her handle is “Ally Crow”

Today I’m going to the 3rd Annual Roots Picnic at Festival Pier on Penn’s Landing (Philadelphia, PA).
Starring The Roots, Vampire Weekend, Clipse, Mayer Hawthorne & The Country, The Very Best, Nneka, Jay Electronica, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Das Racist, The Foreign Exchange, Bajah and the Dry Eye Crew, Pattern Is Movement, Money Making Jam Boyz, and a special appearance by John Legend
Featuring a special performance by Wu Massacre featuring Ghostface Killah, Method Man, & Raekwon backed by The Roots.
I wanted to attend for the past two years but ticket prices or prior engagements have kept me sidelined. Hearing about it from all of my friends, I knew that I had to make it their at least once. Well, today is that day. I’m going to this concert of epic proportion, courtesy of Okayplayer.com who hosted a contest for tickets AND I WON!
I’m hoping to sneak one or two cameras in there (alas, no press credentials) so I can bring back some funky, fresh memories.
Shout out to Tayyib, shamz & team OKP, Ahmir Thompson and THE ROOTS!

Security stopped me at Penn’s Landing “Art Star Bazaar,” pointed at my camera and asked, “What agency are you photographing for?”
- ME: “Just myself”
- HIM: “You can’t go in with that, no professional cameras allowed.”
- ME: “It’s an entry level DSLR.”
- HIM: ” Oh ok, you good then.”
…as I walk in muttering, “WTF was the point?”
